Broad Street Branch – Light rail connects with Morris & Essex Lines and Montclair-Boonton Line rail service at Newark Broad Street Station, operating between Broad Street Station and Newark Penn Station. At Newark Penn Station customers can connect with Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley Line rail service to Penn Station New York, as well as to New Jersey Transit bus and PATH service.

  • From July 10 through September 1, service will increase on the Broad Street branch to provide a 10 minute frequency during morning and evening peak periods (6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.)
  • Morris & Essex Lines customers connecting with rail service at Newark Penn Station will need a ticket with New York as the final destination. Tickets with Hoboken as the final destination will not be cross-honored on Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line or Raritan Valley Line service. A New York or Hoboken weekly or monthly pass will be accepted on Newark Light Rail for travel.
  • Supplemental bus service will operate from Newark Broad Street Station and express to Port Authority Bus Terminal as demand warrants. This service will only operate as needed during the morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tickets containing Hoboken as the final destination will be cross-honored on this bus service.

Grove Street Branch – Light rail operates between Grove Street in Bloomfield and Newark Penn Station. Parking is available at the Grove Street Station.
